2. Organizational Structure
Overview: Regional Health Directorates (RHDs) are responsible for implementing the policies and programs of the Ministry of Health (MoH). The RHD oversees the provision of healthcare delivery and provides stewardship for primary and secondary levels of care in peripheral health facilities. RHD/CRR oversees 27 health facilities, including private clinics, and 35 Primary Health Care circuits. It is the largest region by land mass and has a catchment area population of 280,156 inhabitants across 669 communities (GBoS-MoH Population Projection 2024).
3. Key Functions and Responsibilities
Serve as the entry and exit point for health interventions/programs.
Oversee primary and secondary healthcare facilities.
Conduct supervision and provide mentoring and coaching to healthcare workers at the health facility and community levels.
Facilitate capacity building for healthcare workers.
Conduct quality of care assessments for all operational health facilities within the region.
Conduct community monitoring, mentoring, and coaching.
