The Ministry of Health is currenlty holding a five-day capacity-building workshop this week from the 18th to 22nd of August 2025 for members of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG), with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office.
This intensive training serves as a powerhouse of knowledge and expertise, equipping NITAG members with the latest evidence, strategies, and tools to provide strong, evidence-based guidance for The Gambia’s national immunization policies. As health challenges and disease landscapes evolve rapidly across the globe, this type of technical training ensures that decisions taken at the national level remain informed, impactful, and effective in protecting every citizen.
The workshop highlights the critical role of NITAG in shaping immunization strategies that safeguard communities, strengthen disease prevention, and contribute to the country’s overall public health security.
The Ministry of Health extends its deep appreciation to the dedicated NITAG members for their unwavering commitment to advancing health and to WHO for its invaluable partnership and support. Together, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient health system, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against vaccine-preventable diseases.
