Selection criteria for BSc on Computer Science and CISCO (CCNA)

Background

The Ministry of Health & Social Welfare through its Directorate of Planning and Information has secured funding from the Global Fund under the New Funding Model to accelerate gains made in the fight against Tuberculosis as well as overall Strengthening of the Health System.

As part of activities identified under this grant, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is required to train personnel of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in the following areas: Computer Science and Computer networking.

Prospective sponsors under the grant MUST meet the following requirements:

Selection Criteria

1. BSc. COMPUTER SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF THE GAMBIA

  • Staff member of the Ministry of Health with at least TWO years’ relevant work experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with the Ministry of health and Social Welfare.
  • Must gained admission into the University of The Gambia
  • Must be ready to sign a bond to serve the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare upon completion for at least 8 years

2. CCNA (CISCO NETWORKING) AT GAMBIA TELECOMMUNICATION AND MULTIMEDIA INSTITUTE)

  • Staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with at least ONE year work experience
  • Possessed an Information Communication Technology Certificate (ICT).
  • Must have some Basic knowledge on internet connectivity.
  • Must be ready to sign a bond to serve the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare upon completion for at least 2 year

 

For the BSc. in Computer Science (4 candidates to be trained under the HSS grant) requires that all prospectives candidates apply for admission in the University of the Gambia and afterwards present admission letter to the HSS coordinator (Mr Gibril Jarju, Deputy Director, Directorate of Panning and Information, CMS, Kotu) for potential sponsorship. Deadline is subjective to the University of the Gambia calender BUT all 4 candidates must start classes in the 2 Semester -August 2016.

 

Whilst for the CISCO Networking (8 candidates to be trained under the grant ) calls for all interested and eligible candidates to write a strong letter of motivation/expression of interest with relevant ICT work experience and certificates and addressed it to the HSS Coordinator for consideration. Deadline: Thursday 9th June 2016, by 1800hrs (6 PM)
